Check out these rooms with penny floors! Come up with a question you could ask about these penny floors, for example, "What year has the most pennies on the floor?". Let's see how creative we can get!!
How do people make floors out of pennies! Ok here's my question, how many tails side pennys R on the floor, if there is more then one the people in the house might not want to pick them up cause it could lead to a year or two of bad luck!!! :( uh oh!!
AWESOME responses! Dylan, WOW, that was a very insightful question. Even I had to google information on zinc vs. copper pennies. Here is what I found:
"If your Lincoln Memorial penny has a date before 1982, it is made of 95% copper. If the date is 1983 or later, it is made of 97.5% zinc and plated with a thin copper coating.
For pennies minted in 1982, when both copper and zinc cents were made, the safest and best way to tell their composition is to weigh them. Copper pennies weigh 3.11 grams, whereas the zinc pennies weigh only 2.5 grams."
